Studio Bones unveiled plans to adapt Kodansha’s manga Gachiakuta as an anime series slated for release in 2025. The studio has teased its creative direction with a teaser visual and promotional video, offering a glimpse into the dark and graffiti-infused fantasy world by manga artist Kei Urana and graffiti artist Hideyoshi Andou. More information will be announced at Anime Expo in July.
About Gachiakuta: Serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Sh?nen Magazine since February 2022, Gachiakuta explores themes of rebellion and justice in a society rife with inequality. Protagonist Rudo faces a wrongful conviction that exiles him to a world below, where discarded human waste has spawned monstrous creatures. To unravel the truth and confront his adversaries, Rudo must harness newfound abilities and align with the formidable Cleaners.
Directed by Fumihiko Suganuma and featuring character designs by Satoshi Ishino, the Gachiakuta anime promises to bring the manga’s bold artistic style to the screen under Studio Bones' expert animation.
