This year’s Anime Expo featured many exciting panels, including the highly anticipated Demon Slayer panel! The panel featured the voice actors Natsuki Hanae, Saori Hayami, and Takahiro Sakurai, who voiced Tanjiro Kamado, Shinobu Kocho, and Giyu Tomioka, respectively. As a huge fan of Demon Slayer, I was very eager to attend this panel, and since Shinobu is my favorite character from the series, I of course had to rep Shinobu’s butterfly haori. It was actually Hayami’s very first time visiting Los Angeles and Anime Expo, so the audience was especially excited.

This past weekend, May 22–25, was Fanime! This annual convention is held by fans, for fans, bringing people together to share their love for anime, video games, and pop culture. Held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, Fanime actually began as a local anime club in the 1990s, but it has since exploded into the largest anime convention in NorCal, drawing roughly 25,000 to 30,000 attendees each year.

Fan Expo San Francisco returned once again for its fourth year to the Moscone Center, bringing fans of all ages together for a weekend filled with comics, anime, pop culture, and celebrity guests. While still a relatively new addition to the Bay Area convention scene, the event has steadily grown each year, offering attendees a mix of returning favorites and new surprises.

The Hololive Night at Dodgers Stadium was a unique collaboration between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Hololive Productions. Popular VTubers Usada Pekora, Hoshimachi Suisei, and Gawr Gura participated in baseball activities, treating Hololive fans to a lively mix of entertainment and baseball festivities that involved these talented individuals.
