Just incase you missed it, Nintendo will be launching its new system, Switch 2 on June 5th with a wide variety of exclusive Nintendo only titles as well as some games from their 3rd party partners as well. Switch 2 pre-orders were originally on hold due to tarrifs, which Nintendo has finally broken silence on the matter with a new start date for preorders in the US and thankfully all Nintenedo fans can finally breath a sigh of releif.
While the Switch 2 price will not be changing for the time being, unforuneatly Nintendo will be increasing the price of their accessory line up.
Here is an overview from Nintendo:
Retail pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 are scheduled to begin on April 24, 2025. The launch prices, announced on April 2, will remain unchanged: $449.99 for the Nintendo Switch 2 and $499.99 for the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle. Additionally, the pricing for both the physical and digital versions of Mario Kart World ($79.99) and Donkey Kong Bananza ($69.99) will stay consistent at launch.
However, due to shifts in market conditions, prices for Nintendo Switch 2 accessories will differ from those announced on April 2. Future price adjustments for other Nintendo products may also occur, depending on market trends.
We apologize for the delay in retail pre-orders and hope this update provides some clarity. We deeply appreciate our customers' patience and enthusiasm as we prepare for the Nintendo Switch 2's official launch on June 5, 2025.
