Pompo the Cinephile was released mid-last year. You might have even seen it in theaters. And if you didn't? Why not see it as part of Anime Expo alongside its director, Takayuki Hirao?
Hirao will be one of the convention's Guests of Honor, and he'll also be participating in a Q&A session. He has also worked on God Eater and Type Moon's Garden of Sinners, among other things. He's worked at Madhouse, ufotable, and is now a freelancer.
The screening will take place on July 1 at 130PM in room 403.
Pompo the Cinephile is about the energetic titular main character, Pompo, who is a movie producer. She's well known for working on B-movies, but wants so much more. Pompo's assistant Gene is thrust into the position of director of Pompo's next movie at her behest, and thus begins the trials of being in the spotlight.
Pompo began its run as a manga written by Shogo Sugitani and serialized via pixiv Comic. It currently stands at three volumes.
