ChRocktikal is a Korean rock band headed by Lee Si Yeon along with Lee Wonseok, Lee Junyoung, and Je Gwanwoo. You might recognize that very first name from the K-Pop group Dreamcatcher. Dreamcatcher themselves have a bit of a rock slant to them, and ChRocktikal takes that even further.
Besides Li Si Yeon and Dreamcatcher, all of the members of ChRocktikal are no strangers to the Korean music industry. Lee Won Seok is the producer for the group and guitarist, having worked with Royal 44 and BOL4. Lee Jun Young, the bassist of the group, was formerly part of IZ. Je Gwan Woo was a contestant on The Idol Band: Boy's Battle in the band PARTYAFTERSIX. While PARTYAFTERSIX did not win, clearly Je Gwan Woo impressed enough if he was chosen for ChRocktikal. The group debuted right at the end of 2025 under Dreamcatcher Company.
They released their very first album, We break, you awake, in January of this year. I had pegged the band as hard rock as the first third of the album's eleven songs fit that genre, including the title song, "PEACE," and they even dip into harsh vocals with "KALish." Then the more poppy "RIDE" comes along followed by the ballad "Myself" and electrorock song "All in on me," and back to ballads with the songs "Shame" and "Iris." In late-April the band released the digital single "Navi," which returns to hard rock.
As a result, I don't know what to ultimately describe this band as. What is their focus going to be? Is it going to be Dreamcatcher but more rock? That's something only time, and more releases, can tell.
Leo Presents is handling the US tour and they're doing quite a number of shows across the United States. Very, aggressive, especially given the fact that the band has only officially been around for about six months. The San Francisco Bay Area will have a stop in Oakland on June 9.
