Comic book studio UDON plans to release a 4-issue comic book series based on Street Fighter IV. UDON plans to release this in February 2009 to coincide with Capcom's Street Fighter IV console release.
The comic will feature the four new cast members in Street Fighter IV: Rufus, Crimson Viper, El Fuerte, and Abel. Like the Street Fighter IV game, it will bridge the gap between Street Fighter II and III.
The story will focus on the disappearances of several fighters after the Street Fighter II Tournament. Bonus characters in Street Fighter IV, like Sakura, Dan, and the final boss and leader of S.I.N., Seth will also be included in the mix. The comic book series will also feature background stories on all the Street Fighter IV characters - whereas the game itself will not.
The series will be written by Ken Siu-Chong and drawn by Joe Ng.
UDON is a comic book studio based in Ontario, Canada and has worked on other Street Fighter projects before. Not only has it done several Street Fighter comic book series, but the company plans to work on a Street Fighter III series after its Street Fighter IV series, it has worked on the Capcom Fighting Evolution game, and is working on the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Xbox Live Arcade/Playstation Network game.
