dengeki-bunko-fighting-climax-1

Earlier today, SEGA announced that anime/manga fighter Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax will be released this summer on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Featuring characters including Asuna from Sword Art Online, Kuroyukihime from Accel World and support characters like Touma Kamijou from A Certain Magical Index and Izaya Orihara from Durarara!!, this fighting mashup takes manga characters straight out of the Dengki Bunko magazine in Japan and fields them against each other in SEGA-themed worlds.

Developed by Japanese game developer French Bread (Melty Blood series) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the magazine, the game plays similar to other fighting games with characters having access to weak, medium and strong attacks as well as special moves that range in distance, power and speed. Support characters each have two moves that players can chain combos with or use as a defensive strike.

Featuring an original story campaign where characters are summoned to overthrow the evil Zetsumu, appearances from Valkyria Chronicles' Selvaria Bles and Virtua Fighter's Akira Yuki and 60 character vignettes in "Dream Duel" mode, the game looks to capitalize on fanservice for fans of anime and manga.

The game will be available physically and digitally in North America, while Europe will get a digital-only release.
