Anime Expo and Atlus recently announced their first musical act for this year's convention: Shin Megami Tensei: Band of Shadows.
Shin Megami Tensei might be better known to people in America as the parent franchise of the Persona series. Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3, 4, and 5 were all wildly popular across the world. Some of you will remember Persona 1 and 2, and Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, too, which were some of the first games to be released in English (Shin Megami Tensei I and II were not released in English for many, many years).
In any case, the franchise is thirty years old now, celebrating its anniversary just last year. As part of the celebration, Anime Expo will play host to a 30th Anniversary Live titled "Band of Shadows."
The nearby Novo venue, which has featured artists like Wagakkiband, the late Maon Kurosaki, and even Love Live! Sunshine!!'s Aquors, will have a concert on July 1. Doors are at 630PM and the show itself is slated for 8PM.
On top of the tickets for the show itself, you have the option of adding on a pre-show reception which will give you early admission to the venue and merch, lounge seating, hors d'oeuvres, and a meet-and-group with some of the voice actors from the series. Daman Mills (Aogami from SMT5), Christian La Monte (Demi-fiend from SMT3), and Casey Mongillo (Nahobino from SMT5) are confirmed to be in attendance. You'll also be able to get autographs from the three.
Tickets are available here https://www.showclix.com/event/ax23-sega-smt-30-live-sc23-e08/listing and there are multiple ticket levels for your pleasure. I personally picked up a VIP seat up top so I could come late (I'm sure there will be other things to grab my attention at the convention) and have a decent sight-line. There's also a ground-level GA and a VIP pit up front.
Anime Expo runs from July 1 through July 4. The SMT concert is on Day 1 at 8PM.
