Last week at the Tokyo Anime Fair, Toei Animation made the announcement of a CG movie remake of the 1970s mech anime series Gaiking with a short clip at their booth. The trailer has been made available online and we have included it inside. Jules Urbach, a developer of the computer graphic tool Light Stage used in James Cameron's 2009 Avatar film, and director Mattew Gratzner worked on the trailer together. The movie is currently planned to be released sometime in or after 2012 worldwide. More information including characters who will appear in the film will apparently be revealed at this year's San Diego Comic-Con International.
