One thing Anime Expo is known for is its great numbers of high-quality guests. It's a topic that is speculated about every year. Anime Expo has finally announced what is the first of a flood of guests to come.
For a lot of us Ouran High School Host Club holds a special place in our hearts and one of those cheesy cute anime. Ouran's mangaka, Bisco Hatori, has just been announced as a guest of honor. This is her first overseas appearance so AX has gotten something big on their hands! Hatori will have a focus panel and autographs. I'm sure we'll see a torrent of Ouran High School uniforms this year.
We're still missing things like the mainstay concerts that Anime Expo has come to be known for but I'm sure that will come in time. There's rumors of some big names that might be coming to perform at Anime Expo and I hope they're not just rumors.
Keep your eyes peeled for many great announcements.
Edit: AX has just announced the folks behind HANJO TV. It's a channel on YouTube meant to spread Japanese culture and even teaches the basics of Japanese language. I actually just watched some of HANJO TV the other day and it's a cute way to burn some time and learn a thing or two.
SUBLIMATION INC's Shinya Sugai (director of animation and CGI) and Takumi Saito (director of audiography) will be on hand for the convention. HANJO TV's the virtual YouTuber Miya Kimino, will also be present(?!). I'm curious to see how they handle that one.
