The panels include guest-focused ones for both Tsuruoka-san and Ueda-san along with a panel for the Fate/Grand Order game itself and the Fate/Grand Order anime “Absolute Demonic Front” (Babylonia).  Some of the featured exhibits include a memorial monument for the first arc of Fate/Grand Order, a Noble Phantasm display area including Gilgamesh’s Ea, Nero’s Aestus Estus, and Saber Alter’s Excalibur Morgan, and a photo area with sets and props from Fate/Grand Order.  For those of you who missed it at last year’s Anime Expo the Fate/Grand Order VR Experience featuring Mash Kyrielight and Arturia Pendragon will be on hand too. If it’s like the one at Anime Expo it’ll include include a snazzy metal Chaldea ID card so you might want to pop by...

Now would be a good time to share some important speculations on what to expect for the USA tour based on my own experiences of the festival events in Japan which I’m sure will be very similar.

  • Game announcements to go along with guests panels
  • Free quartz and power up items
  • Exclusive region-specific goods
  • Did I mention free saint quartz?

I recently had the opportunity to attend the latest FGO winter festival in Japan titled “The Traveling Circus.” This was unfortunately not in Tokyo so I had to take the bullet train to Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture, or as I like to call it, the middle of nowhere.

Upon entering the venue I was greeted by our wonderful Guda Guda pair.

The USA tour will probably look similar. Check out the website (http://fate-go.us/tour2019) for more details.

Tickets go on sale on January 16 at 10AM and costs range between $20 for the Saturday pre-show night and $45 for both Saturday and Sunday.

HEAVEN'S FEEL THE MOVIE PART II: LOST BUTTERFLY

Aniplex of America had a surprise in that the Fate/Grand Order USA tour is not the only event being held in February.  I did think it was a little odd that there was a pre-show night on Saturday and then the main day on Sunday. There was a very good reason for that: Aniplex has officially announced the US premiere of Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] THE MOVIE II. lost butterfly with two screenings on February 23 at 11AM and another at 2:30PM.  Lost butterfly premiered in Japan less than a week ago and before today English-speaking fans were on pins and needles waiting for a date.

The first film, presage flower, had a red carpet premiere at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles.  Lost butterfly's premiere will be held at the Regal LA LIVE in downtown LA and features a special giveaway and a currently unannounced guest.  Since Kana Ueda is in town she's a strong bet. Her counterpart Noriko Shitaya made her first US appearance at the red carpet premiere of the first film and we were lucky enough to interview her (https://t-ono.net/interview/noriko-shitaya-interview-fate/stay-night-heaven-s-feel-premiere.html) alongside director Tomonori Sudo (https://t-ono.net/interview/tomonori-sudo-interview-fate/stay-night-heaven-s-feel-premiere.html).  We also have Q&A from the event which you can check out here (https://t-ono.net/anime-news/heavens-feel-movie-premiere-qa.html).  The official wide release of lost butterfly will be March 14 in partnership with Fathom Events. This may be the only date you can catch it in theaters so mark your calendars.

Yuki Kajiura returns as composer for the film with Aimer singing the theme song "I beg you."  The song was first premiered in November at Anime NYC.

Tickets for the February 23 premiere will happen at 11AM PST on January 17 at http://www.fatestaynightusa.com/ticket and the wide release will go on sale on January 25 (tickets TBA).
