While fans in Japan had been able to enjoy watching the fourth and final Rebuild of Evangelion movie, Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon a Time since March, Amazon has announced they will be releasing the updated version of the movie, Evangelion 3.0+1.01, on their streaming platform Prime Video on August 13 globally.

This is a bit of a surprise as the original 26 episode anime Neon Genesis Evangelion and films are currently streaming on Netflix. Amazon has also announced they will be releasing the three previous updated home releases, Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone, Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance, and Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo.
