Nissan has now received Japan's first license plate for its Nissan Leaf, equipped with its autonomous car technology called the Advanced Driver Assist. The new autonomous vehicle will be driving on its first public road so that the company can start collecting field data in real-world traffic situations.

SPECULATION (Guesses & Opinionated comments):

This is an interesting and innovating start for Nissan in the autonomous car development. It's another step for sci-fii to transform into reality. We've seen so many cars in anime, manga, films and video games that have cars equipped with autonomous car tech, which we all dreamed of having one. Hopefully this new advancement will allow other new technology to be developed and tested for real-life applications. Personally, I'll be looking forward for a time when a Tachikoma AI walker to come in its way soon.
