Popular Japanese all-female rock band SCANDAL will be hitting American shores this September. It's been a long three years since they last graced our shores with a tour but that will be fixed in a few months. Their newest album HONEY follows previous album YELLOW and continues the trend of their evolving sound that started more than twelve years ago.
Intrepid fans on the internet have discovered a few new tidbits of interest to anyone stateside. Not quite a leak since they're publicly viewable on both Facebook and venue pages but not quite an official announcement.
UPDATE 5/4: The tour has officially been announced! Looks like they'll be heading to Mexico too (dates TBA). The official name of the tour is "Special Thanks."
As of now we have four concert dates spanning the country:
September 5, at the Playstation Theater in New York, NY
September 7, at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco, CA
September 9, at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA
September 16, at the Bomb Factory in Dallas, TX
UPDATE 5/3: Presale for the San Francisco show at the Regency Ballroom is up now. The password is GONNABEMAY. Click here for a link to the concert page at the Regency or here to buy tickets.
The general on-sale date for San Francisco is May 8 at 9AM sharp. Tickets start at $25 for early bird (normal price $40) and VIP is $150. At the door prices will be $45. All other dates will go on sale that same day. Presale will, depending on the venue and ticket agency, occur a few days earlier. Citibank, American Express, and others will participate in presales.
This is still preliminary information so there is still the possibility of more dates being added to the roster. The previous tour in 2015 made stops in Los Angeles, Anaheim, and Chicago. The band is currently touring Japan in support of HONEY with plans to visit various countries in Asia.
