This is just a quick one with a bit of info that are relevant for those of you who love Japanese rock: Band-Maid and Nemophila have been announced for Aftershock Festival 2022 in Sacramento.

Now, I'm not much of a festival guy, but I think that's going to change. There's honestly a ton of good bands on the lineup that I would see by themselves. Add in a couple of bands where seeing them is quite rare over here in America and it's a very attractive proposition.

Band-Maid should need no introduction by now, but if I had to boil it down, it's maids playing rock. They're good, trust me. Band-Maid has hinted at a US tour but nothing yet has been announced. It's possible this is part of the tour, but only time will tell.

Nemophila is one that you probably haven't heard of. You might know Saki, of Mary's Blood fame. Add in other members from the bands Lipstick, Disqualia, and others, and you have Nemophila. I'm a big fan of Mayu's vocals. They first came to light with their single "Oiran," which you can see here

I'm hoping Nemophila decide to do a few more shows while they're here in America. One show on one of the (likely) smaller festival stages is not enough for them.

Nemophila will be on Friday, and Band-Maid will be on Sunday.

Aftershock Festival takes place in Sacramento, CA, at Discovery Park. It will be held on October 6 through October 9, 2022.
