If you're like me and enjoyed the heck out of the Squaresoft's science-fiction masterpiece Xenogears as a kid, then you'll be glad to hear this recent bit of news: Xenogears' fan book "Perfect Works" will be reprinted by Fukkan starting mid-March in Japan for a paltry 5,250 yen ($50). What does this mean for you? How about the fact that you'll no longer have to pay obscene reseller prices for a physical copy after the previous publisher DigiCube went out of business.
Covering the mythos behind the PlayStation One cult-classic Xenogears, "Perfect Works" fills in gaps and artworks that weren't in the game. As it was originally noted to be the fifth episode out of six, there were tons of elements that weren't covered in the game. Whether or not we'll ever see an official English translation of the book remains to be seen, but hey- if my upteenth Xenogears playthroughs ever taught me anything, it's that hope never dies.
