Sega has just released details on how players will interact with the girls of Shining Hearts. Sega is adopting a "MOE" system or "Mind Over Emotion." The MOE system  places emphasis on the variety of characters and player's relationships with them.

As the main character Rick, players must go around town and collect hearts in order to move forward in the storyline. For example, if the player needs to enter "a castle" then they might need a certain amount of hearts in order to woo a female character. There is an array of different colored hearts that include various emotions like happiness, kindness, anger, sadness, and even hatred. Player will need various hearts to accomplish different tasks.

The MOE system in Shining Hearts has similarities to the relationship system in Sakura Wars. Players will need to select the appropriate answers when in conversation with a particular character. Depending on the players answer's, they may or may not get the hearts they want. Gamers can also obtain hearts by going on various quests. Quests can work against the players as well. If they were to fail, they may lose hearts and downgrade their relationship status with certain characters.

Shining Hearts fans definitely have an interesting game to look forward to. Famitsu has announced three new characters this week: Rufina, the princess of Wynderia; Ragnus, the Prince of Wyndera; and Rona, maid to Rufina. Players can probably assume that their will be plenty of female characters with an array of moe announced in the near future. Moe means having a strong interest in a particular type or style of character in anime, video games or manga. For example, if someone likes girls who wear glasses, they have a particular moe for those types of girls. It looks like there is going to be plenty of moe in Shining Hearts.
