Atlus has announced Catherine, a new game from the team that developed both Persona 3 and 4. Sadly, Catherine isn't the new RPG that fans have been hoping for. Instead, it's a new action-adventure game with horror and mature themes. Catherine is directed by Persona 4's Katsura Hashino and will feature character designs from Shigenori Soejima.
UPDATE: New, clean pictures included.
Catherine centers around a 32-year-old man, Vincent, who has nightmares every night. Apparently, these include his adventures in a tower and goats. Vincent runs into Catherine, a young sexy girl who charms her way to Vincent's heart. There is currently very little detail about the game, but players can probably assume that it will be dream-oriented and will possibly have gameplay elements surrounding Catherine and Vincent's relationship.
According to Atlus, the game will be getting a Winter 2010 release for both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. There have been no announcements on an North American release. More Catherine and goat action as it comes in.
