Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage Ai Furihata and Mayu Yoshioka Talk About Being Idols In a Game - Anime Expo 2024

I have always been obsessed with rhythm games and Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage has been at the top of my list. At this year's Anime Expo, Sega brought a playable version of their latest build for fans to try out. And as a special treat hosted a panel with two of the seiyuu from the game.

Fan messages and questions were selected from users on X

During the panel, there were several fan messages and questions that were submitted on X and answered by Mayu and Furihata.

Mizuenagf: I will continue to appreciate the hard work and dedication you have put into portraying our beloved shining idols.

Airi-chan, Haruka-chan, as well as the rest of MORE MORE JUMP! have inspired me to reach for my dreams and remain hopeful for a better tomorrow.

Thank you so much, you’re both truly amazing and have inspired me to keep going forward even during my struggles.

I can’t wait to see what you do in the future as we continue to see the progress of MORE MORE JUMP!.

MY: Thank you. You’re words totally warm my heart. I see lots of you in cosplay and it is incredible.

Mizuenaf: Do you have a favorite part about playing your characters and do you relate to them in any way?

AF: It’s really an honor for me to play as Airi. She is trying to be a perfect princess idol and I look up to her. It’s amazing to play as her and I want to be like her too.

MY: Haruka’s got this rock-solid vibe like she's way tougher and wiser than your average high schooler. And even as an adult, I've got mad respect for her and kind of want to be like her. She's the type of cool, dependable girl everyone admires and those bits show how tough, idol life can be I get that and as a voice actor, it hits close to me. It's the real deal.

[FS] Yuzukie: Hello Ai-San! And Mayu-san! Good evening! I cannot express my appreciation and gratitude for your hard work in bringing Airi and Haruka to be one of the most beloved characters in the game!

You did an amazing job making these characters as lovely as they are! I hope to see more development of their bond in future events as soon as they turn into professional idols! Thank you so much again!

Much like Haruka, who loves and collects penguin items so much, do you guys have any specific items that you love so much and tend to collect a lot of as a hobby?

AF: Just like how everyone loves their cosplays, I also have something I like to collect. Opanchu Usagi is a Japanese character who wears whatever he likes, but he enjoys things like crane games and gacha-gacha. I am all about collecting Opanchu collectibles. And if I spot one in a crane game or gacha-gacha, you bet I am going to scoop up a bunch, it’s my jam.

MY: I really like to create my own special Starbucks coffee concoctions and recently I have been on the hunt for Pokemon cards. Gotta catch them all right?

Sanest Kagamine Fan: Hello!! Thank you for bringing Haruka and Airi to life!

Your portrayals of them are amazing.

I’m looking forward to seeing them grow even more as idols along with the rest of MMJ!

Also, I hope you have a good time in LA!!

I definitely recommend trying some Mexican food while you’re here!!!!!!! (^ V ^)

If MMJ had to switch from their idol concept for a day, what concept would you like to see them do?

MY: Totally, if we are talking about a fresh new vibe for us as MORE MORE JUMP!, it's gotta be belting up some awesome tracks and busting out dance moves, because that’s what’s hot right now.

AF: I would love to try Mexican food like tacos. As for Ivy, she has the pigtails. I want to see Haruka Minori, and Shizuku in their pigtails and also wearing French maid costumes. I think that’s going to look so cool.

Ai Furihata and Mayu Yoshioka had a fan message for the audience at the end of the panel.

MY: A big shout out to all of you for the amazing vibes and I hope you enjoy playing Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! You all rock!

AF: It was a blast and I hope you enjoy playing Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! I love Los Angeles.
