Voice actress Nobuyo Oyama, famed for voicing children’s anime character Doreamon, will be voicing Mono Bear in the upcoming Playstation Portable (PSP) game, Dangan-Ronpa. Anyone who’s heard Doreamon’s voice will be in for a treat and surprise, considering that Mono Bear is an evil principal commanding the player to kill all fellow students. From the trailer on the official site, gamers can already hear bits of the iconic voice in Mono Bear. More after the jump.
For anyone who may have been living under a rock, devoid of anime knowledge from the last 40 years, Doreamon is one of the most popular children's anime, featuring a robotic cat from the future named Doreamon. He is extremely iconic, even being awarded the title of "anime ambassador" by Japan's Foreign Ministry in 2008.
Dangan-Ronpa is a new detective game from Spike for the PSP. Players’ job is to solve the constant murders occurring in the school, instigated by the principal. The game is still early in development, so there’s not many details beyond that. However, Spike also made Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble, which was previously published in the US by Atlus. Considering that Kenka Bancho, a game with roots in Japanese culture, was able to make it to western shores, American fans can rest assured that Dangan-Ronpa will likely get an American release as well.
