You wield a lot of guns and gadgets in Doom Eternal. DOOM Slayer assumes the role of a one-man army and so much more transforming into an even more powerful badass. New features, environments, and great gameplay mechanics refresh and greatly improve the feeling of being unstoppable in DOOM Slayer's second journey, and only a few control and storyline issues slow it down.
Kingdom Hearts III has been one of the most ambitious titles of our decade. With its charming characters, over the top story and its crazy battle mechanics its easily a game I keep coming back to for more. Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind adds so much more to an already epic story while adding in extra game modes and even a few surprises along the way.
I’ll be honest, some of my absolute favorite video games are beat-em-up. Picking a favorite character, jumping into a level sending you straight into the action. River City Girls is a beat-em-up and much more. Touting a crazy cast of characters, an entertaining story, and tons of fun and exciting game mechanics to explore.
One Ok Rock's United States tour kicks off in a few days so why not have a listen to their new album, "Eye of the Storm?" This marks One Ok Rock's second album under Fueled by Ramen and their ninth album overall. It is my opinion that whether you enjoy this album hangs squarely on if you enjoyed "35xxxv" and "Ambitions." If you liked those albums you'll probably like this one too. "Eye of the Storm" continues the refinement and evolution of the band to their newer sound.
After playing the latest Tohou game from Unties Games and developer Souvenir Circ titled ‘Azure Reflections’ and I was impressed - and not by what you would expect. First, this game takes place after the Scarlet Mist incident, so we begin with an unnatural scarlet mist appearing without warning, covering much of the land. It is strong enough to block out the sun, causing the affected areas to become dark and cold. Reimu Hakurei, a shrine maiden working at the Hakurei Shrine, and Marisa Kirisame, a magician, set out to find the source of the mist.
It seems like retro-style rogue-lites have been popping up more and more frequently in the indie game scene, and with this increase, it can be hard to start out. Digital Sun’s first release, Moonlighter, tries to stick its head above the rest with its blend of familiar and unique. In Moonlighter, you adventure into mysterious, ever-changing dungeons in the hopes to find riches and glory the deeper you delve. Something we have all down countless times; however, this game eschews from the cliche in its interesting take on selling your treasures. After escaping the dungeons with your life and loot, you run your own shop as a merchant selling your spoils to the town. This blend of old and new makes Moonlighter a contender, but is it enough to make a lasting impression?
In one of our first test video product review, we take a look at the 1/8 scale Atago: Heavy Armament Ver. which is a part of the limited Wonderful Hobby Selection line.
We're still working out the kinks of the format and lighting, but we're hoping to release more in the future!
Culminating from over three years of work, Danganronpa V3 brings the murder-mystery series to its pinnacle after numerous game and anime releases, the most recent being the anime-exclusive Danganronpa 3. Although it does feature an entirely new cast of characters, V3 is definitely not for newbies to the series.
As a love letter to horror fans, PQube’s localization of the 2015 HD remaster for ROIGame’s White Day: A Labyrinth Named School still stands as one of the definitive grandparents of the first-person “hide-and-seek simulation” horror genre. Although the game still feels archaic at times, especially when compared to more recent first-person horror games such as the Outlast series or Resident Evil 7, the developer’s original creative vision still manages to shine through with the game’s unique blend of school simulation, visual novel elements, hiding mechanics and, of course, creepy ambiance.
Hakuoki: Kyoto Winds is the remaster of the first entry of the Hakuoki series which came out 9 years ago in Japan. Since then, the Hakuoki franchise has released numerous games and spin-offs including an anime television series. Kyoto Winds includes extra characters, an extended plot and improved graphics from the original game. Fans of the otome genre are likely already familiar with this title and know exactly what to expect.
When I was first informed of the re-make of my favorite childhood series, I was ecstatic. I was head over heels for all things Sailor Moon before it was even brought over to the West. I had the trading cards, artbooks, and basically anything I could get my hands on. I watched the anime but only a few episodes a month as they were difficult to get a hold of. I wanted to learn Japanese, so I can read the manga as they were released. I copied art from the artbooks and wanted to be a manga artist. Sailor Moon inspired me to draw and was my gateway drug to all things anime.
World of Final Fantasy certainly isn't the only Final Fantasy spin-off around, but it’s perhaps among the more successful one. There's a lot that series veterans will find familiar. New systems and approaches are combined with many traditional Final Fantasy staples to create a product that complements an already extensive catalog of many great RPG games to date.
Corpse Party published by XSeed/Marvelous of America is a well-known cult classic for those that are into J-horror adventure games. Originally published in 1990 on the PC, there have been numerous remakes of this title with the most recent one on the Nintendo 3DS. With a dark a twisted plotline filled with child murder, cannibalism, and ominous undertones, Corpse Party brings about a mood of uncertainty as you lead a group of high schoolers to their ultimate fate.
If you were like me, you may have been a little confused by the name of this game. The synopsis and style are very similar, but the name is different from what you might’ve thought. For those that are not familiar, Story of Seasons is, in-fact, the formerly known Harvest Moon franchise out here in the West and Trio of Towns is the third game that is released under this re-branded title. The premises of the game is pretty straightforward; perform day-to-day activities such as cultivating crop, tending to livestock, fishing, mining, managing your farm's finances and the like. With the aid of part-time jobs, the goal is to make profit and eventually earn enough money to settle down with a respectable young man/lady and start a family of your own.
