One Ok Rock's United States tour kicks off in a few days so why not have a listen to their new album, "Eye of the Storm?" This marks One Ok Rock's second album under Fueled by Ramen and their ninth album overall. It is my opinion that whether you enjoy this album hangs squarely on if you enjoyed "35xxxv" and "Ambitions." If you liked those albums you'll probably like this one too. "Eye of the Storm" continues the refinement and evolution of the band to their newer sound.

Silent Siren "S" Album Review

Written by

As a whole, the four-female member band Silent Siren is an exemplary piece of the modern Japanese music puzzle. Although the members, Suu (Sumire Yoshida as Vo & Gt.), Hinanchu (Hinako Umemura on Dr.), Ainyan (Aina Yamauchi on Ba.), and Yukarun (Yukako Kurosaka on Key.), all started off as fashion models in Japan, their passion and talent for music has helped them gain attention from music lovers across the globe since their inception in 2012.

LiSA Launcher (album) Review

Written by

Fresh off the success of her 2014 Oricon charting singles, "Rising Hope," "Bright Flight/L.Miranic," and "Shirushi," JPOP artist LiSA is back with her fifth album titled Launcher. Released on March 4th, Launcher is her third album and features songs from the anime series Sword Art Online II and the Irregular at Magic High School. Along with a very striking album cover of our JPOP starlet, I've personally been looking forward to this release for a while as I've done with most of her work. However, for those on the fence about the purchase and want to find out whether the album hit its targets with megaton precision or if it fires a dud, read on!

Fudanjuku “OTOKO” Review

Written by

Fudanjuku brings us their latest album "OTOKO." This album contains twelve tracks that range from high beat to smooth songs. In most songs you will notice Fudanjuku features a deeper voice than other pop groups. I know what you are thinking, "isn't a deep voice ideal for a boy group?" Just keep reading and you will find out why I think it's unique. The group has performed anime OP and ED for such series as Yatterman, Katsunda!, and Ginga e kickoff!! The album is a well balanced CD in which they show that they can still, after two albums, keep their energy up. I highly enjoyed "Kaze Ikki" which has a high beat rave style to it. I also liked "Nora Neko Maria" because the beat made me remember Lupin the 3rd, the song and vocals were catchy, and all the members were able to shine. Another song that was enjoyable was "Love Spider" which is a more energetic ballad. Yet another favorite of mine from this album, "Tanada Mai," starts with background music that you would hear in a futuristic themed movie, then warps into a mixture of deep bass and a very catchy chorus by the members which made me feel like I was at a nightclub. Overall, the album was enjoyable with a nice mix of high energy songs with some traces of traditional sounding J-pop idol songs which we are accustomed to hearing.

May'n Heat (CD/Album) Review

Fresh off her 2012 world tour announcement, J-Pop singer May'n's third album "Heat" is a j-rock and j-pop purist's delight. Featuring the songs "Scarlet Ballet" which was used for the anime Aria the Scarlet Ammo (Hidan no Aria) and "Brain Diver" featured in Phi Brain: Puzzle of God, the album is hot enough to warm any pair of frozen ears on a cold day.
