SF Chun Li Kristin Do you remember the 1994 live-action Street Fighter movie? Do you remember how shockingly bad it was? Well apparently Hollywood doesn't, that's why we're getting tripe such as Street Fighter - The Legend of Chun Li. Joint produced by Hyde Park Entertainment and Capcom Ltd., The Legend of Chun Li is slated for a 2008 release, which so happens to be the 20th anniversary of the vaunted game franchise. Andrzej Bartkowiak will direct the movie from a script by Justin Marks.

While the plot is being kept under wraps, what we do know is the roster of pugilists making an appearance in the film. Fan favorites Chun Li (duh), Bison, Vega, Gen, and Balrog are set to enter the ring, followed by newcomers Maya, Huang, Cantana, and Zhilan. Whether or not SF veterans Ryu and Ken will appear in the film is unknown.

Will this new flick best Street Fighter's last attempt at silver screen ass kicking? Probably. Will it be any good? Only time will tell. On the bright side, Smallville hottie Kristin Kreuk will play Chun Li!

Hit the jump for a link to the rest of the movie cast and a first look of actress Moon Bloodgood as Det. Maya Sunee, a new character in the Street Fighter universe. (To read more, click "Read More")

[Site] Upcoming Features

I apologize for the lack of updates, I am currently away out of the country on business (related to the site Tongue out). I'll have a full report on my travels after, highlights include visiting 1/6 scale figure maker Hot Toys' main store, and a look at the self proclaimed "Akihabara 2" located in none other than Hong Kong!

Final testing are under way and our new relaunched Network will be live soon.
Stay tuned.

We are currently experimenting with new components for Version 2.1 of the website so expect some downtime or odd CSS layout issues until we are finished with upgrading the site. .

For those who are lucky, you might be able to spot Version 3.0 test build. Foot in mouth

We will be migrating all our news over to a new posting system soon, and we apologize for the delay in news. Should be done within the next few days. If you're curious, click on "Test" on the top nav bar to see what it looks like.

Our WonderCon 2008 report has been delayed while we're waiting on one of our reporters to finish his compositions (yes you know who you are, TURN IT IN for editing already!). Will have something up about it soon. Quick highlights: Iron Man looks awesome based from the 8 minute clip and 3 minute trailer shown, go watch it. Starship Troopers is back for a third film, yes it's been hinted over and over again that there will be powersuits; budget for film supposedly more expensive than the second, not really saying much from the movie clips. A second X-Files movie is under production, wow the actors really haven't aged that much. The new Appleseed film, which a lot of you probably already have seen through online fansubs, looks amazing (yes no more eye blinding reflective freeways). Lastly, a new  horror suspense ghost film, Shutter, produced by an American studio but directed and filmed by a Japanese crew.  Again, stay tuned for that indepth report!

[Site] Site Progress

Some quick updates. the comment system has been revamped. Much cleaner, and you can add a comment without registering.
Currently cleaning up the 'add entry' page for the network items. Only registered members may add stores, and post reviews.
Also in the process of merging the forums with the current login system. What will probably happen is that all past members from the forums will have to re-register. Current members who have registered through this main site will have to do nothing, as they will automatically have access to the forums and gallery.

[Site] Version 2.0 Live

As a Christmas present we decided to officially launch ver. 2.0 for public viewing. We've worked out most of the kinks, but there are still some issues with formatting. Should be corrected in the next few days. Been moving content over from the old version which is still accessible at www.t-ono.net/oldindex1.php
Hopefully we'll be able to have our official grand opening by New Years. Wink
