In just over a week the "Samurai Guitarist" Miyavi will begin the American section of his world tour. It's been just over a year since we last saw him as part of the Asia on Tour showcase and this time he's going solo.

Miyavi's "DAY 2" World Tour has been ongoing since early March and has traveled across Japan, Asia, and Europe. The American tour begins on May 8th in Los Angeles (conveniently where Miyavi now calls home) and heads north to San Francisco and Seattle before heading into Canada and hitting the east coast of the United States. Longtime music venue Slim's will play host to the guitar wizard for the San Francisco leg of the trip. Tickets are $30 now but at the door will be $35. Dinner packages are available for $55.  This is the show where you'll find us from T-ONO.

Miyavi's latest album release is "Samurai Sessions vol.2" and features collaborations with a variety of musicians in a plethora of styles. Hip hop, rap, dance, and pop are all on the menu with that core Miyavi rock aspect to them. From taking a peek at the set lists of earlier stops on the DAY 2 tour we'll be treated to songs from not only Samurai Sessions vol.2 but also Samurai Sessions vol.1, his latest solo album Fire Bird, and others.  Early last year he released the greatest hits album "All Time Best 'Day 2' " from which the tour takes its name.

Later this year we'll be seeing him on the big screen as the powerful Byakuya Kuchiki in the live-action movie adaptation of Kubo Tite's manga Bleach. Bleach will be officially released on July 20 in Japan. If we're lucky this year's Anime Expo in Los Angeles will be graced with a special screening of the film much like last year's Anime Expo and Tokyo Ghoul. At the very least a panel should be expected.
