FINAL FANTASY XVI is a new installment in the popular video game series that combines real-time action combat with role-playing game elements. It aims to appeal to both long-time fans of the series and newcomers. The game emphasizes accessibility by introducing Timely Accessories, which allow players to customize the difficulty level based on their preferences. Another innovative feature is the Active Time Lore (ATL) system, which provides players with detailed information about the game world and characters.

The FINAL FANTASY XVI Demo offers players a chance to experience the beginning of the protagonist's story. It includes the opening prologue, and progress made in the demo can be carried over to the full game. In the demo, players take control of Clive Rosfield, who undergoes a tragic event and sets out on a path of revenge. Completing the prologue unlocks a special battle demo with various abilities and attacks to try out.

The game is set in the world of Valisthea, a land blessed by Mothercrystals, but threatened by the Blight. The fate of Valisthea depends on the Eikons, powerful summoned beasts, and their Dominants, individuals who can control them. The story revolves around Clive Rosfield, the "First Shield of Rosaria," who is determined to seek revenge against the Dark Eikon Ifrit after a great tragedy occurs. The game presents an epic dark fantasy tale in this unique setting.

Final Fantasy XVI is available now for PlayStation 5 with a PC release currently in active development.
