The Dragon Ball games have been quite a staple of the industry for quite some time, dating back to the Famicom in the 1980s. They have mainly been fighting games with a few RPG games thrown into the mix up until now. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a massive world with many surprises and familiar characters old and new.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is overflowing with story and lore spanning four different sagas the Saiyan Saga, Freiza Saga, and the Buu Saga. Each saga filled with dozens of iconic characters fans will be familiar with. Each scene plays out with nearly identical accuracy to the 1980's Anime while scraping away some of the unnecessary filler we all love or hate. It often felt like I was watching an episode of the Anime.

While Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot's story paints a beautiful picture, where it shines is in its massive open-world exploding with side quests, crafting and more. I could easily just spend hours flying around different planets just gathering resources or even dabbling in the fishing mini-game. My absolute favorite is gathering food and cooking the different recipes for stat boosts for my party.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a truly ambitious game.  It's massive open world is a sight to behold and I could get lost in it for hours leveling up, gathering resources, crafting new recipes and much more. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an anime fan's dream come true and with a season pass in the works, there is so much more to look forward to.
