In the tradition of fighting games in the 90s, Capcom has just released Super Street Fighter IV, the update to 2009's highly successful Street Fighter IV. Will this be a simple rehash or the supreme version of Street Fighter IV? Read on to find out.
Capcom is happy to announce that Olivia Munn will be hosting the Lost Planet 2 “Kill Big for Charity” launch event and celebrity tournament in Los Angeles on May 6. The combined celebrity and community tournament is the final chapter in Capcom’s month long “Kill Big for Charity” campaign where community members were called into action to support a good cause and download the newest Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demo on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. Capcom, in partnership with Music for Relief, has promised in return to donate $25,000 to charity if the demo hits 1.5 million downloads. The tournament on May 6 th, comprised of celebrities, press, community and super-fans will compete in a variety of Lost Planet 2 multiplayer modes. The victorious team will then get the honor of choosing the charity from a list of Music for Relief partnerships.
Community members can compete for a seat in the celebrity tournament and a trip to Los Angeles to attend the launch party by submitting their best tips and tricks for beating the new Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demo by this Thursday to Capcom Unity at http://www.capcom-unity.com/snow_infernus/blog/2010/04/01/lost_planet_2_-_kill_big_for_charity
Four lucky community members and Lost Planet 2 super-fans will be awarded spots in the celebrity tournament.
Lost Planet fans and Capcom community living in the Los Angeles area are encouraged to attend the event on May 6th from 8pm to midnight, for more information check out www.capcom-unity/xxx.com.
The “Kill Big for Charity” program, which kicked off earlier this month, is a robust charity and community program which includes a donation to Music for Relief for each demo downloaded via Xbox LIVE® or PlayStation Network. Capcom has created a charity fund of $20,000 as a donation for the first one million Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demos downloaded on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 from March 31 through midnight PT May 5. If the demo surpasses the million mark across both platforms, an additional $5,000 will be donated when an extra 500,000 downloads is achieved. With the multiplayer demo now released wide to the public, Capcom is encouraging gamers to download the demo to help continue towards the goal of one million downloads.
As reported before, Capcom will be hosting an event commemorating the launch of Super Street Fighter IV. The event will run from 8PM to midnight on Friday, April 23rd in Los Angeles, CA. While there is no specified address yet, Capcom has already revealed that it will be somewhere in the vicinity of Silver Lake. For those who don't live in the area or can't make it, Capcom will even be streaming the action on their official ustream page! As with any Capcom event, expect lots of gaming action and freebies! More details after the jump.
First shown on the official Japanese Street Fighter IV's Nakky blog a week ago, a keychain that replicates voice clips from Street Fighter II will be available in March. Bandai has also released a video showing the keychain in action, which includes the generic battle sound effects and voice clips feature we've seen in other gadgets before it. However, this one also includes an "imaginary battle" feature that allows users to fight against "imaginary opponents" and progress through the arcade mode using only the keychain. Better yet, different people who own keychains can fight against each other! Players who don't want to see their characters lose on screen should definitely look forward to these. Sadly, the previous set of Street Fighter IV keychains didn't make it to American shores, so these probably won't have much luck either. Hit the jump for the full video from Bandai.
Shortly after being announced for release in Japan, Megaman Zero Collection for the DS will also come to North American shores. Fans can look forward to all four Megaman Zero games from the GBA in one card Summer 2010. No word yet on whether there will be graphical updates, but hopefully they will touch up the sprites. On the other hand, the press release mentions new modes, but there are no further details at this time. This comes as great news to Megaman fans waiting for something new to play. It's refreshing to see Capcom respond to fans' demand for this game to come stateside so quickly; now let's hope they do something about the boxart for Super Street Fighter IV...

Finally, I get to play against people in Resident Evil 5 online. Wait, its not on the disk, you mean I have to pay more money? Well this will make some people angry.
Capcom has released the first downloadable content for their latest edition of the resident evil franchise. This downloadable content, set at $4.99 available for both the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360, is just another way for Capcom to get a little extra money into their already deep wallets.
Wii owners can rejoice as another fighting game is (finally) slated to hit the console.

T-ono: Hello. Can you give a brief intro of yourself and what you do with Capcom Unity?
Seth Killian: Well, my name is Seth Killian and I've been organizing the EVO tournaments for a long time. Formerly a top ten, but not so much anymore - haven't had time to play or practice. I'm also the senior manager for community at Capcom, where I run the Capcom Unity website.
