The Opening Ceremony of Getsuei Academy -kou-!

Header

Arc System Works and voice actor Tomokazu Sugita has released Getsuei Academy -kou- [月英学園 -kou-, Getsuei Gakuen -kou-] on the PlayStation Vita on Octor 10, 2013 (JST).

Tomokazu Sugita and Hajike Odate wrote the story for this game. This game will include Kenji Ito's beautiful composition, Kohaku Sumeragi, Yomi Sarachi, and Ryou Kanai's captivating illustrations and character designs, and Akito Kumagawa, Kazuya Negishi, and Kikakuya's [企画屋] (a game scenario group) dramatic scenario.

Although several of the promotional videos and articles often advertise Tomokazu Sugita and Arc System Works working on the project, Getsuei Academy -kou- does not rest with these two. They have utilized their energy (and budget) to bring the player the best cast and staff to this project.

Recently announced by Arc System Works, Guilty Gear Xrd Sign is the next installment of the hard rock, anime-style fighting game series. It will be breaking new grounds in the Guilty Gear series by introducing a 3D engine into the mix. By taking advantage of Epic Games' Unreal Engine, the aim, presumably, will be to enhance the experience of the Guilty Gear brand. Escalating it towards greater heights of aesthetic and gameplay quality.

Hard Corps: Uprising Review

Arc System Works is usually known for its BlazBlue series and beautifully animated sprites. This time, they’ve been commissioned by Konami to work on Hard Corps: Uprising, a prequel to the classic Contra series. Like most of Arc System Works’ games, Hard Corps features beautifully drawn 2D sprites and mixes it with old school gameplay to both satisfy seasoned gamers and attract younger players, even those who may have never touched a Contra game before.

Arcana Heart 3 Coming to Consoles

Lolicon rejoice! Arcana Heart 3, the fighting game series known for having loads of underage girls, is coming to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Japan courtesy of Arc System Works. Gameplay-wise, the series’ trademark is the ability to choose Arcana for every character, allowing almost countless ways to customize characters. No word on an American release, but considering Aksys Games’ close relationship with Arc System Works, it’s definitely a possibility. Hopefully this isn’t the only thing that Arc System Works was alluding to in their upcoming announcement in two days.

New Arc System Works Game?

A quick visit to Arc System Works' homepage will reveal a countdown timer, which will hit zero on July 23. Most of the time, these countdowns lead to a new game announcement. Considering that BlazBlue: Continuum Shift just hit Japanese consoles earlier this month and will come to American shores on July 27, it’s unlikely that a new one would be announced so soon. On the other hand, Guilty Gear has been on hiatus for a while now and Daisuke Ishiwatari has stated that a title is in the works. We can only wait ten more days and see.

E3 Hard Corps: Uprising Impressions

Prequel to Sega Genesis’ Contra: Hard Corps, Hard Corps: Uprising (working title) was one of the simplest, yet outstanding games on the show floor at E3. It is a side scrolling shooter where players assume the role of Bahamut, the antagonist from the original Hard Corps, as they explore his origins. Being a shooter, Uprising had a big emphasis on gameplay and we were begging for more by the demo’s end. Read our impressions to find out why.
