Rihwa's New Single "Haru Kaze" Selected as Opening for J-drama Boku no Ita Jikan

Known for her contributions to the anime film Tiger and Bunny: The Beginning and her collaboration with Western singer Michelle Branch for "Good Love," it was announced earlier today that her new single "Haru Kaze" ("Spring Breeze") has been selected as the opening for Haruma Miura's live-action drama Boku no Ita Jikan. She has also announced a five-city tour in Japan this spring, with performances in Hokkaido, Fukuoka, Aichi, Osaka and Tokyo.

February 4, 2014 - J-Pop singer Rihwa's new single "Haru Kaze" ("Spring Breeze") will be released on February 26. The song was chosen as the theme for the new Haruma Miura drama Boku no Ita Jikan and will be released with coupling track "Boku no Ita Jikan" named for the title of the drama series.

Rihwa has gained an international following for her musical contributions to the anime film Tiger and Bunny: The Beginning and the popular romance drama Last Cinderella, as well as her collaboration with Michelle Branch for 2013's "Good Love". In addition to the single release, Rihwa has announced a five-city one-man tour of Japan in spring of 2014, with performances in Hokkaido, Fukuoka, Aichi, Osaka, and Tokyo.

PROFILE

Singer-songwriter Rihwa was born in Sapporo, Japan. After finishing junior high school, she traveled to Canada for her high school education, and then returned to Japan to begin her music career. She released a series of independent-label singles and one album before her major-label debut single "Change" was released by Toy's Factory in 2012.

Also in 2012, Rihwa performed at large Japanese music Festivals JOIN ALIVE 2012, Summer Sonic 2012, and Sweet Love Shower 2012, and released her second major single "Yakusoku" as an insert song in the animated film Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning.

In 2013, Rihwa collaborated with Grammy-winner Michelle Branch for the single "Good Love," and created the song "Last Love" as the theme for Japanese television drama Last Cinderella starring Haruma Miura and Ryoko Shinohara. Rihwa continued her live performances across Japan with her "Rihwa "Grrrr!!!" Live Tour 2013" and an appearance at ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2013.

In 2014, Rihwa released the theme song for the Haruma Miura drama Boku no Ita Jikan and announced a one-man tour of Japan for spring 2014.
