supercell's 3rd Single w/ Type-Moon

Written by

It's not a secret that Japanese musical group supercell has grown significantly in fame within the last year. Since our last interview with the group's lead composer ryo, and vocalist nagi, supercell's music has recently appeared as an ending song for the popular anime adaptation of Naruto. Another song titled Hoshi ga matataku konna Yoru ni, will appear in Type-Moon's upcoming game Witch on the Holy Night (Mahotsukai no Yoru). Type-Moon is probably best known for creating the Fate/stay night series. Both songs will be available in their third major album slated to be released in Japan on August 25, 2010. Interested fans can get their copies of the CD at PlayAsia.

To further support the iOS, or iPhone and iPod Touch version of Street Fighter IV, Capcom will include Crimson Viper as the next free downloadable character. She comes after two previous free downloads – Cammy and Zangief. An early video shows that she seems to retain her abilities from Street Fighter IV. No date announced yet for the character, so fans will have to wait on that. Screenshots and video after the jump.

NIS Cancels Three Games

Nippon Ichi Software (NIS), famed for strategy RPGs such as Disgaea and Ar tonelico, recently released its company earnings for the first quarter. The company revealed they had suffered a 40% drop in sales compared to last year’s first quarter reports, or about a 15 million yen loss in profit. NIS made 32 million yen profit over the first quarter, yet it still wasn't enough to save some of its up-and-coming games. They will be canceling development on three titles as a result. However, they have not announced which titles would be cancelled. While this may be sad news for many NIS fans, there will still be plenty of games coming from the popular studio, including the upcoming Criminal Girls. The popular Disgaea series will most likely be safe as well. Chin up, guys!

Virtual On Eases Up

For the upcoming Virtual On Force for Xbox 360, Sega will include an “EX Option” to ease new players into the game or to help continuing players overcome difficult enemies. It seems to raise the player’s damage output and lower damage intake, which will be shown in the included screens. Like beginner mode for most games, however, it could become too much of a crutch and may take away from the game’s true enjoyment.
