Perhaps the Mayans were on to something with this entire 2013 "enlightenment" period after all. In what was a stealthy, but nonetheless awesome, bit of news over the weekend VisualArts Co. Little Busters! (PC) Review

What's your biggest regret? That's the central theme to Key's 2008 visual novel Little Busters! where a group of friends tries to overcome their dark past by wondering about the infinite possibilities of the future. The series centers around a group of high school students, as with the rest of the company's endeavors, who form a circle of friends known as Little Busters, and they experience the joys, pains, and surprises of everyday life. From playing baseball to all of the awkward social interactions that come with growing up in an imperfect society, Little Busters! perfectly articulates what it means to be human and retaining your precious memories.

Twinkle Queen Meshes More Than Visual Novels

Twinkle Queen, the new Milestone crossover fighter featuring characters from various visual novels, will incorporate elements from many other established fighting games. The game will be a 2-on-2 fighter, allowing players to switch out characters throughout fights, including while being hit, blocking, or during a combo. While attacking, players will also be able to tap forward twice to dash out of an attack animation and continue a combo. The most risky gameplay feature lets players tap forward in order to cancel out an incoming attack and counterattack immediately. More after the jump.

Last Window Dated in Europe

While it was only a cult favorite, Hotel Dusk: Room 215 has a sequel dated in Europe for September 17. Titled Last Window: The Secret of Cape West, it stars Kyle Hyde one year after Hotel Dusk and features the same noir style graphics. Fans of visual novels should enjoy this story driven series that makes good use of the stylus controls. Sadly, the original developer, CING, is bankrupt. The title is being published by Nintendo, but no word yet on an American release. If it does well enough in Europe, perhaps we will see it come over to American shores, a possible revival of CING, and maybe even a third game...?
