A Certain Magical Virtual-On Releases February 15 in Japan stars

Originally announced back in March at Dengeki Bunko Festival Spring 2017, a new trailer for Toaru Majutsu no Virtual-On was shown during the Playstation conference at the Tokyo Game Show. The game is an adaptation of the 2016 light novel with the same title, featuring a crossover between Sega’s Virtual-On game series and the light novel series A Certain Magical Index (Toaru Majutsu no Index) as a part of Virtual-On’s 20th anniversary.

Shining Series Gets Its Fighting Game On stars

So you have played inserts from Sega's tactical role-playing series Shining. But have you ever considered duking it out in a 2D fighting environment with some of your favorite characters from the franchise? If not, then consider Sega's newest fighting game experience Blade Arcus. Expecting to hit Japanese arcades later this summer, players will be able to do fight each other on-screen, pitting familiar and new Shining characters not only against one another but also in a new light of battle.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax announced! stars

Dengeki Bunko (the publisher of several well-known light novels such as ToraDora!, Sword Art Online, and Toaru series) and Sega announced their new crossover game, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, during the Tokyo Game Show 2013.

Several screenshots have, showed Shana from Shakugan no Shana and Asuna from Sword Art Online crossing swords in 2D style fighting game. We can also see two more characters from Dengeki franchise: Leafa (Sword Art Online) and Wilhelmina (Shakugan no Shana).

More information will be announced on October 6 during the Dengeki Bunko Fall Festival in Akihabara.

Valkyria Chronicles 3 To Be Announced stars

Due to a technical error, Valkyria Chronicles 3’s appearance at Tokyo Game Show (TGS) was revealed early. By replacing different scheduling images on the TGS website the words "Valkyria Chronicles 3: Voice Actor Announcement and Game Presentation" appears. There is no doubt now that there will be another sequel for the series. As of now, since only the presentation has been revealed, there’s no word on the platform as of yet. More after the break.

UPDATE: Valkyria Chronicles 3 will be on the Playstation Portable.

New Phantasy Star Portable Announced stars

Sega has announced a new entry to the Phantasy Star Portable series, Phantasy Star Portable 2 Infinity. The new installment looks like it will be bigger and better than its predecessor, Phantasy Star Portable 2, including more story, characters, and online features.

How Fights Work in Yakuza PSP stars

Various fighting modes have been revealed for Kurohyou: Ryu ga Gotoku Shinsho, Sega’s upcoming Yakuza spin-off. There will be three modes: Submission Battle, Tag Match, and Team Battle. In addition, players will be able to create their own characters and take them into the ad-hoc duels. Apparently, none of the modes will feature life bars, which developers say will enhance the overall atmosphere. No idea how players will know if they’re winning or losing as of yet. Be a Yakuza Ice Cream and Sushi Chef stars

Upcoming Yakuza Playstation Portable spinoff Kurohyou: Ryu ga Gotoku Shinsho will feature nightlife minigames, which include games like UFO catchers or part time jobs. These were common in the series, but part time jobs seem to be a new feature. The part time job minigames will consist of button commands, which will effectively make these a series of rhythm games. Apparently, these will also fund the players’ nightlife activities, meaning they can’t just slack off and go to the karaoke or massage parlor all the time. Try Out Vanquish in Two Weeks stars

Shinji Mikami, director of upcoming fast-paced action title Vanquish, has announced a playable demo of the game to be released online September 2. Apparently, the demo will be different from the one at Tokyo Game Show and include more difficulty settings than the one we tried at E3. Players should definitely give the game a try, considering Mikami’s pedigree with previous titles like the Resident Evil series and Bayonetta. No word yet on a demo for the American Playstation Network or Xbox LIVE Marketplace, but there was one for Bayonetta so fans should sit tight. The game is currently set to be released on October 19 in the US. Screenshots and trailer after the jump.
