Sakura-Con 2013 Post Con Updates

dave crist

Sakura-Con was an absolute blast! We got a ton of juicy answers about Sword Art Online and Accel World including some of the most asked fan questions directly from the author Reki Kawahara! We'll have updates from his panel, guest reception, and press conference.

We're also working on probably our most extensive video yet that features singers Eir Aoi and Luna Haruna! Video includes an exclusive backstage interview with both singers before their concert and fan reactions during their autograph session!

Dave and Cristina also made their debut as The-O Network's video hosts at Sakura-Con! Besides doing the bulk of the Eir Aoi and Luna Haruna interviews  the pair were able to briefly interview several other guests including Studio Bones Founder Toshihiro Kawamoto, Madhouse Director Atsuko Ishizuka, and American voice actor Vic Mignogna! They also were able to talk to many attendees on film so look forward to them!

Although David and Cristina are both relatively new to hosting, they did a fantastic job! Look forward to future coverage videos with them along with AJ and myself (Theo)!

We got a ton of content coming out over the course of the next few days and next week, so please stay tuned and thank you for your patience!

Season's Greeting from Tateo Retsu!

Tateo Retsu Happy-holidays

Tateo Retsu, best known for her work as the mangaka for Full Metal Panic!, sent us this art piece for her American fans along with a special holiday greeting:

"A lot has happened this year, did everybody have a memorable year?

For me, the first time coming to the United States and meeting all the otakus [anime fans] was the most memorable.

Next time I would love to visit a convention not as a guest, but as a participant! I want to take my time to enjoy the whole event, look around, and take lots of pictures!!!

Just like for me this year, I wish fun happenings to everyone. Happy Holidays!!!

Stereopony Interview

Stereopony's been rocking the faces off of Japan since 2007 and we had the chance to be de-facificed ourselves at this years Sakura-Con. If you've enjoyed Mobile Suit Gundam 00 or Darker Than Black, you would probably recognize their music. These three girls have definitely made their mark in the J-Rock and anime world and there's no sign of them slowing down. Our very own Roger Lee sat down with them and talked a little bit about their career, their struggles, and the support they've received from fans friends and family alike.

Our very own Roger Lee was on the scene in Seattle last weekend at Sakura-Con 2012 for an exclusive roundtable interview with Nitroplus screenwriter Gen Urobuchi, producer Atsuhiro Iwakami and light novel publisher Katushi Ota. Given in a traditional round-robin interview format, we were joined by representatives from other press groups including SUTORAIKUanime, Radiant Dreamer, Within a Flash of Lightning, Japan-A-Radio, and Sankaku Complex.
