Anime Expo 2016 takes place next week, from July 1st to July 4th at the Los Angeles Convention Center, once again AX will feature a number of video game, visual novel, and mobile game companies, and more. Here’s a brief summary of just about all the game-related events, panels, booths, and demos available at Anime Expo 2016:

Prepare yourself for the arrival of Monster Hunter 4 at UNIQLO. UNIQLO Japan has released Monster Hunter 4 Graphic T-shirt starting on May 31st (JST time). There are nineteen t-shirt designs as well as six boxer brief designs.

Video game developer Capcom announced earlier today that the long-awaited Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD is now available in English on Apple's App Store.

Sengoku BASARA: Samurai Heroes is Capcom’s followup to Devil Kings, a hack and slasher featuring warlords from Japan’s warring states period, all of whom either look more feminine than their real life counterparts or were outright replaced with the opposite sex. So we already know the history is bastardized, but what about the game?

Capcom has just announced a new entry in the Devil May Cry franchise. While this is the fifth game in the series, the title is simply listed as DmC for the time being. With the abandonment of numbered installments and a whole new look, perhaps we’re looking at a reboot of the series. Overall it looks much grittier and has a western atmosphere to it. This comes as no surprise, considering that the game is developed by Ninja Theory, the team behind Sony’s Heavenly Blade. The game is scheduled to be released on both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. No gameplay videos have been released yet, but screenshots and an excerpt from Capcom’s press release are included after the jump.

Capcom’s secret project with CyberConnect2 has just been revealed. Asura’s Wrath is a new action game that follows Asura, a fallen deity. From the looks of the trailer, the game will include dynamic cutscenes with button input commands. This seems to be a continuing trend with Capcom games. So far, the scale of the action in this game looks amazing and will keep players’ adrenaline pumped throughout gameplay. It’s great to see a new IP from Capcom, especially in a time full of sequels. Gyakuten Kenji 2, sequel to Gyakuten Kenji or Ace Attorney Investigations, has just been announced. It will feature a new gameplay system, which has yet to be detailed. The only clue that’s been given is that key word for it is “chess.” Perhaps this means players will begin “trapping” enemies’ faulty logic until they get a “checkmate?” Otherwise, gameplay doesn’t seem to change much. At the Comic Con 2010 panel, SSFIV and Beyond, Producer Yoshinori Ono along with Tekken Producer Katsuhiro Harada announced a crossover project between Street Fighter and Tekken, making two games with two developers. There will be two versions: Street Fighter X Tekken created by Capcom and Tekken X Street Fighter by Namco. It will be interesting to see how Tekken characters will deal with projectile characters like Ryu and Ken. So far, the gameplay showed off Ryu from Street Fighter and Kazuya from Tekken. Let the speculations on characters begin!

UPDATE: A video just surfaced online. It shows off the 2-on-2 combat system, and confirms Chun Li and Nina Williams as two additional characters. Note that this is likely from Street Fighter X Tekken, due to the presence of Ultra moves and overall art style resembling that of Super Street Fighter IV. This year's Evolution Fighting Game Championships boasted some of the most surprising results to date. These included two pad players, Shizza and Vance “Vangief” Wu, placing top eight in Super Street Fighter IV, Taiwanese sensation Bruce “Gamerbee” Hsiang eliminating US champion Justin Wong, and top two placers for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix were both new school players, shutting out legends like Daigo Umehara and Jason “Afrocole” Cole. To America's devastation, Umehara managed to take the gold in Super Street Fighter IV, keeping northern California's EG.Ricky Ortiz at second place. A stream was available at both G4TV and Shoryuken, but it crashed several times throughout the weekend due to technical difficulties, most notably during the Super Street Fighter IV grand finals.
