Having just concluded their 2015 Hello World Tour in Hong Kong, Scandal had made three stops in the USA to give their international fans a glimpse into their powerful concerts with two live house shows in Los Angeles and one convention show in Chicago. The-O Network was privileged enough to attend and provide photo and concert coverage of the events.

All three concerts shared a similar set list, with only slight rearrangement of songs between the three, different first encore song and with the Chicago show omitting three solo songs performed by Tomomi, Rina, and Mami. Other than that, all three concerts were the same, but still managed to deliver a powerful performance at each venue to keep fans coming back for more.

scandal-tour-854x1280Scandal started off each of their three concerts with a set of three songs that really helped set the pace and atmosphere at each location: "Love in Action", "Satisfaction" and "Doll". The latter of the two were usually seen played during the encore portion of their concerts, so it really set the energy level high in the fans from the very beginning which carried through to the end. They had even performed "Scandal Baby," which was from their first album "Best Scandal." This almost felt like it was a tribute to their diehard fans who have followed them from the beginning, and the cheers erupted in the whole venues when that song came on.

As mentioned, the LA and Anaheim concerts included three songs that were omitted from the Chicago show. First being "Hon Wo Yomu" performed by Mami, which was quite the change in pace to the previous songs played at the concert as it had quite different tempo and beat. Also getting to hear Mami as the main vocal provided a rare and refreshing treat as she has quite a different style of singing compared to the other girls. After Mami's solo, next up was Tomomi with her solo "Kanbiru", which turned the tempo and music back to what you usually expect from Scandal. Although Tomomi's voice can be heard in Scandal's usual songs as she sang alongside Haruna, it's still quite the spectacle to see her perform solo as you can see in the audience who Tomomi's fans were as they cheered extra loud for the song.

One of the more unique parts of the performance of the night was when Rina got off the drums to play the guitar for her solo "Oyasumi." Seeing all four girls on guitar and bass was quite the spectacle as Rina was able to keep up really well with all the other girls' guitar playing. The song itself was also quite interesting as well as it brings forth Rina's voice quite well as her voice is usually drowned out by the other members are performing.

The remainder of the set list consisted of songs from their latest album "Hello World," with the exception of "Taiyo to kimi ga Egaku Story," a fan favorite from second album "Temptation Box." Another song worth noting was "Departure," which Haruna had mentioned in all three shows as a song quite "precious" to them. This certainly showed as they were performing the song as you could clearly tell that each of the member was pouring all of their emotions into the performance.

The concert concluded with the song "Image" from their latest album, but with a band loved by so many fans, an encore was expected to follow. This was where the three shows differed as the Chicago and Anaheim show had "Harukaze" as first encore song, while LA had "Awanai Tsumori no, Genki Dene." However, all three shows concluded on "Everybody say Yeah!" which had everyone in the audience dancing along. At one point I had thought that the front barricade was going to break down from all the shaking and dancing in the front row. I'm sure all of the energy was deeply felt by the band members.

The live house performances delivered what you would have expected from Scandal's top notch J-Rock performances. Although they were shortened set lists relative to their usual Japan shows, the band still pumped the audience with so much energy that it created lasting memories for old and new fans alike.
