Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Arc Prologue Anime World Premiere at Anime Expo 2017 stars

Glad tidings from Anime Expo as a new Cardcaptor series is on its way. Morio Asaka is returning to direct the anime iteration of Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card. Kodansha is bringing the manga to the US, and, while it’s been almost 20 years, the enthusiasm of the fandom has not waned. The OVA deviates from the end of the second Cardcaptor movie in a major way. Sakura’s confession to Syaoran was retconned into nothing, yet hope remains. Touya and Yukito are very much together, and Eriol and Kaho are preparing to head back to England hand in hand. Syaoran gets a call from his mom telling him to return to Hong Kong. Before going back however, Syaoran makes a valiant confession to Sakura who is at a loss to respond.

A look into New Donk City at E3 2017 stars

Nintendo’s E3 booth gave congoers a one way ticket to New Donk City; one of the few places one can explore in the New Super Mario Odyssey set to be released this October. We had to explore the booth since every corner hid something that we missed on the first time we passed by. First, we saw the playable stations which were quickly noted by the long lines. The demos were Super Mario Odyssey, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Splatoon 2, Arms, Pokkén Tournament DX and Fifa 18. Oh yea, they also had a giveaway for a foam Mario Cap. If you wanted to get it, you had to do a stamp rally by playing some of the demos, but to get started, you had to first play the Mario Odyssey demo to obtain a “passport” to stamp. When you had achieved all those steps, you would head over to the “Crazy Cap” line to trade the passport for your prize.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Hands-On Impressions at E3 2017 stars

During E3, I got the chance to play a whole mission from Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown at the Bandai Namco booth, so I took to the skies and tested the controls. First off, you could play in advance mode or normal, which was for the first timers to the game. The main difference in advance mode is that the player has more controls to worry about, such as in tilt, acceleration, and targeting, vs normal, which the AI helps you in controlling the plane and lock-on targets. The level started with the standard mission briefing screen where I got the details of the mission and a view of the 3D map. The map seems more detailed than in previous games and feels like you are getting more information because of this. During the mission, you have your three views: outer view, cockpit view, and HUD view [1st person view]. The cockpit view looks more detailed than previous games.

Monster Hunter: World Behind Closed Doors at E3 2017 stars

It’s been a long while since we last saw a Monster Hunter title on a home console. Some time ago, Monster Hunter was rumored to come out on the PlayStation 3, but Capcom then moved its development over to the Wii. That title was known as Monster Hunter Tri. Although Tri was a great game, it still suffered limitation based on the hardware of the Wii. It’s hard to believe fans have been waiting eight years to see a Monster Hunter in true HD form. Finally, Monster Hunter: World realizes this and brings a “living breathing world” for us to explore in 4K.
