World End Economica now on STEAM Greenlight

Fresh off a highly successful campaign in which they managed to green light stage-nana’s visual novel Narcissu 1 & 2 on the video game distribution network Steam, Sekai Project has announced another project: a release of Isuna Hasekura’s sci-fi/economic thriller World End Economica in English. Previously distributed in English through MangaGamer and DMM, this is a retranslation of SpicyTail’s visual novel which was marred with a rather rough translation.

Released back in 2011, Isuna Hasekura’s (Spice and Wolf) visual novel revolves around a boy named Haru who was raised on the Moon and dreams of accumulating a copious amount of wealth through playing the stock market. The game also features an opening video with music by Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets, known for the opening themes for High School of the Dead and Strike the Blood. According to the Steam Greenlight landing page, Sekai Project is currently working with MangaGamer and DMM and will provide Steam keys to customers who previously purchased the game if they are willing to share their customer data.

edit: Mangagamer has now released the new translation patch through their online platform. Customers who previously purchased the game can download the new translation here.
