Dawn Lam

Having never played much of FFXII, I can’t really make a direct comparison. I can, however, talk about the things I saw and the gameplay I experienced at PAX West this year. I was lucky enough to be part of a two hour session with the folks at Square Enix for a hands-on experience with Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, a HD remake of the 2006 original that was announced earlier this year at E3.

Style Savvy: Fashion Forward (3DS) Review

Like the other Style Savvy games, in Fashion Forward, the player becomes a manager of a boutique through magical means. The aesthetics of this game is very feminine, but at the same time, I don’t think that is all it has to offer. Taking away the girly elements, this game is a simulation game - managing stock and inventory of the store, attending to customer needs, and of course, withholding the reputation of a fashionista and top designer in a fictitious city. New to this franchise, Fashion Forward, there are other things to do than selling clothes. Become a makeup artist! A hair stylist! A room designer and even a model!

Yona of the Dawn Volume 1 Review

Yona is a typical princess living a carefree life of royalty with her doting father, King Il (pronounced like ill), in the kingdom of Kouka - a historical kingdom that seem to be a mix of Korean and Japanese influence. Akatsuki no Yona, or Yona of the Dawn, is written by Mizuho Kusanagi and began in 2009. It is an on-going publication in the bi-monthly magazine, Hana to Yume. It was announced at Comic Con 2015 that Viz Media would be bringing it to North America for English fans.

Anime Revolution or AniRevo for short, is a three day celebration of anime and Japanese Pop Culture, hosted yearly in the heart of Vancouver, BC, Canada. This year, AniRevo was held from August 5th to 7th at the Vancouver Convention Center. From the official website, advertisement, and their own mascot – a blue haired kawaii, race queen style girl nicknamed “Senmei”, line-up of merchandise, the vibe this convention gives can easily be summed into one word: organized. This would not be my first time attending AniRevo, however the first time that I took time to reflect on my experiences as an attendee.

Square Enix and Level-5 announced a collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and Yo-kai Watch during the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XXIX stream back in late April. The collaboration includes the appearance of 13 popular characters from the Yo-Kai Watch series as weapons, minions, an equippable Yo-kai watch, and even a flying mount. The event went live on July 26, 2016 and is currently in full-swing. Accompanied by a free login campaign, the cities of Eorzea are positively jumping with old and new adventurers alike.
